Privacy Policy

What we collect when you buy, activate or contact us, and what NimDeck never sends.

Last updated 29 October 2026

In short

  • Paddle handles your purchase and payment details; we never see your card number.
  • Activation sends a hashed device ID, not your computer's name. Keygen also sees your IP address.
  • NimDeck checks its licence at most once a day. No analytics, no telemetry, and your models never leave your computer.
  • Processors: Paddle, Keygen, Cloudflare and Google (web fonts).
  • Ask for a copy, a correction or deletion at any time by email.

Who we are

NimDeck is sold by Fangyi Miao (trading as NimDeck). NimDeck is responsible for the personal information described here. For privacy questions, write to support@nimdeck.com.

What we collect, and why

WhatDetailsWhy
PurchasePaddle collects your name, email, billing country and address, tax details and payment details. We receive your name, email, country, what you bought and when. We never see your full card number. To sell you a licence, send your key, and handle support and refunds.
Licence keyYour key and its record at Keygen: plan, dates, status, and the email it was issued to.To check that the licence is valid.
ComputerWhen you activate, NimDeck sends a device ID: a one-way SHA-256 hash of your Windows machine ID, so the original ID cannot be read back. It also sends the platform ("Windows") and a fixed label ("Studio Tools / Revit"). It does not send your computer's name, your Windows user name or anything from your projects. Keygen also sees your IP address and the time of each check. To keep each key to two computers and to let NimDeck work offline.
Contact form and emailYour email, your name if you give it, and your message, plus anything you attach, such as a screenshot or a log file.To answer you and fix what you report.
Website visitsOur hosting provider records technical data such as IP address, browser and the pages requested. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details. To deliver and protect the website.

What NimDeck does not do

Apart from the licence check, NimDeck does not connect to the internet. There is no usage analytics, no telemetry and no heartbeat. Your Revit models, project names and file paths never leave your computer. The trial runs entirely on your computer. Settings and log files stay in your Windows user folder unless you choose to send them to us.

How often NimDeck contacts the server

Once when you activate a key, then at most once a day to check it. Without a connection, NimDeck works for up to 30 days and tries again later. Deactivating a computer also contacts the server, to free its place.

Because these providers are overseas, your information may be stored outside Australia. We choose providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles and the GDPR. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

  • Orders and licence records: for as long as your licence exists, then for the period Australian tax law requires (currently five years).
  • Device records: until you deactivate the computer or the licence ends.
  • Messages: up to 24 months after the conversation ends, unless they belong to an open issue.
  • Website logs: as set by our hosting provider, usually days to weeks.

Legal bases (GDPR)

If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, we rely on contract (selling and licensing NimDeck, and checking your licence), legitimate interests (answering messages, protecting the website and preventing misuse of keys) and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask to see the information we hold about you and to correct it. If the GDPR applies, you can also ask us to delete it, to limit or object to how we use it, or to give you a copy in a common format.

To ask for any of this, including deletion, email support@nimdeck.com from the address you bought with, or include your licence key. We reply within 30 days. Some records must be kept under tax law; we will tell you if that applies. Deleting your licence record ends the licence.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) or to the data protection authority where you live.

Security

Licence data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). The licence file on your computer is stored in your Windows user folder. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

Changes

We will update this page when what we collect or who processes it changes, and change the date at the top.
