Licensing Terms
The licence for using NimDeck: what each plan covers and what you may not do. The short version comes first.
In short
- Every plan gets every tool. A key works on two computers at a time.
- Do not share, resell or transfer your key, or get around the licence check.
- Perpetual: yours for good for the Revit years you bought; each new Revit year is an optional $69 upgrade.
- Team seats belong to the organisation and can move to a new colleague.
- NimDeck changes Revit models: keep backups and check the results.
- Provided as is. Our liability is capped at what you paid in the last 12 months. Your Australian Consumer Law rights are not affected.
- Changed your mind? Refunds within 14 days of purchase; after that, purchases are final.
Who these terms are between
These terms are between you and Fangyi Miao (trading as NimDeck), a sole trader, who makes NimDeck. In these terms, "NimDeck", "we" and "us" mean Fangyi Miao, and "you" means the person or organisation using NimDeck.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle sells you the licence; these terms set out what you may do with NimDeck once you have it.
By installing or using NimDeck you agree to these terms. If you use NimDeck for an organisation, you confirm you may agree for it.
What you get
NimDeck is licensed, not sold. We give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use NimDeck in Autodesk Revit, under the plan you chose:
| Plan | What the licence covers |
|---|---|
| Free trial | Every tool for 14 days on one computer, to try NimDeck on your own projects. No payment details are needed. |
| Individual | One named person, for as long as the yearly subscription is paid. $89 a year at the Founding Member price, which stays while the subscription remains active; the future standard price is $129 a year. |
| Perpetual | One named person, without an end date, for the Revit versions included when you buy (today 2025, 2026 and 2027). $229 at launch; the standard price after launch is $298. |
| Team | Seats for an organisation, $169 per seat per year, minimum 5 seats. Each seat is used by one person at a time. |
Prices are in US dollars. Current prices and what each plan includes are on the Pricing page; if the two ever differ, the price shown at checkout applies.
Two computers per licence
Each licence key works on two computers at a time, for example your office and home machines. To use a third computer, deactivate one first (NimDeck › Settings › License › Deactivate This Computer).
What you may not do
- Share, sell, rent, lend or transfer your licence key, or let more people use it than your plan allows.
- Get around the licence checks, or change NimDeck so it runs without a valid licence.
- Decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer NimDeck, except where the law allows it despite this rule.
- Copy NimDeck for anything other than installing it on the computers your licence covers.
- Remove copyright or trademark notices.
Perpetual licences and Revit years
A Perpetual licence never expires for the Revit versions included in your entitlement. While a Revit version is in your entitlement and supported by us, you get NimDeck updates for it at no charge, including new features, improvements and fixes.
New Revit years are not included automatically. When Autodesk releases a new Revit year, you can add it with an optional Revit Compatibility Upgrade for $69 per new Revit year. If you do not buy it, NimDeck keeps working in the Revit versions you already have.
We plan to include new Revit years released in the first 12 months after your purchase at no cost. This is subject to the final policy and will be confirmed here before it applies.
Free updates do not mean we will keep supporting Revit years that Autodesk no longer maintains.
Team seats
Team seats belong to the organisation that pays for them, not to the people using them. An administrator may move a seat from one person to another, for example when someone leaves. A seat may not be shared between people at the same time.
The Team Library is a shared folder that your organisation hosts on its own drive. You are responsible for that folder, its contents and who can change it.
Licence checks and offline use
NimDeck checks your licence online with our licensing provider, Keygen, at most once a day. If it cannot reach the server, NimDeck keeps working for up to 30 days after the last successful check, then asks you to go online once. The trial runs on your computer and does not need a connection. What is sent during a check is described in the Privacy Policy.
Your Revit models
NimDeck changes your Revit models. Keep backups.
Many NimDeck tools create, change or delete elements, views, types and settings in your Revit projects. Revit's Undo does not cover every case, for example after you save or synchronise.
- Keep backups of your projects, and save before large batch operations.
- Check the results before you issue drawings, schedules or models.
- Try a new tool on a copy of a project first.
You remain responsible for your models and for the work you deliver from them.
No warranty beyond the law
NimDeck is provided "as is".
To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that NimDeck will be free of errors, work without interruption, suit a particular purpose, or work with every Revit version, add-in, model or computer.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For a major failure you are entitled to a refund, and for other failures you may be entitled to have the problem fixed. Consumers in other countries keep the rights their own laws give them.
Limit of our liability
Our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the last 12 months.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything to do with NimDeck is limited to the licence fees you paid for NimDeck in the 12 months before the event that caused the claim. For a free trial, that amount is zero.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost or damaged data or models, lost profits, lost time, project delays or claims from your clients.
Where the Australian Consumer Law lets us limit our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited to supplying NimDeck again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.
When the licence ends
- A trial ends after 14 days.
- An Individual or Team licence ends at the end of the last paid period, unless you renew.
- A Perpetual licence does not end, unless it is ended for a breach or refunded.
- We may end any licence if you break these terms and do not fix the breach within 14 days of us asking, or straight away if the breach cannot be fixed.
When a licence ends, stop using NimDeck and uninstall it. Refunds are available within 14 days of purchase; a refunded licence key is deactivated. See the Refund Policy.
Autodesk and other software
NimDeck is an add-in for Autodesk Revit. It is not made, endorsed or supported by Autodesk. Revit is a trademark of Autodesk, Inc. You need your own valid Revit licence. NimDeck includes open-source components that are licensed under their own terms.
Law and disputes
Western Australian law applies to these terms. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of your local law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. A purchase is governed by the version in force when you bought; for subscriptions, changes apply from your next renewal, and we will tell you about material changes before they apply.
