Path Dimension
Draw a path across the plan. Everything it crosses in the chosen categories becomes a reference, and you get real Revit dimension strings in one step. Follow the notes, or just play.
These tutorials are made for a computer screen. On a phone you can look; to try them, open this page on a laptop or desktop.

How it works
- Draw starts Revit's own Detail Line tool. Here one line is enough: two clicks. In Revit you can keep clicking to chain more lines, then press Enter or Space. The path lines are deleted again; the dimensions and their removal are one Undo step.
- The result is ordinary Revit dimensions: drag a string sideways to move its dimension line; the witness lines follow.
- The first line sets the direction. Every line parallel to it, going the same way, is scanned. Lines at other angles only connect; the path must end on a scanned line.
- Each scanned line gives one dimension string through everything it crosses in the chosen categories. Merge puts all scans into one string on the first line.
- Click a card to choose its references, for example wall Finish, Center or Core faces. References at the same position become one; the category listed first wins.
- Pick does the same with a straight Detail Line already in the view (Tab picks its connected chain).
