Dimension Manager
Dimension columns to their grids, find dimensions that hide a remainder, and write Prefix, Suffix, Above, Below or a Value override on many segments at once. On the right you can see the text fields Revit stores for each segment.
These tutorials are made for a computer screen. On a phone you can look; to try them, open this page on a laptop or desktop.

How it works
- Set writes every box that has text. Empty boxes leave that field as it is. Right-click a box and choose Clear to empty that field instead. If a field already holds different text, Revit asks before replacing it.
- Value shows the measured value of the selection (or “— mixed —”). Click it to type replacement text. The measured value itself never changes.
- COL. Setout (plan views) dimensions each selected column, or the columns you pick before Finish, from the nearest straight grid to the column centre, for both axes. A column on a grid gets no dimension on that axis. Left-right dimensions sit above the column, up-down ones to its left. One Undo; the new dimensions are selected.
- Non-round lists the segments in this view whose measured length is not a whole multiple of the type's rounding: 899.6 shows as 900. Click a row to select the dimension and zoom to it.
- Snippets copies a saved text (EQ, TYP., U.N.O.…) to the clipboard, ready to paste into a box. Edit list… takes one snippet per line.
- Find & Set only writes the segments where one of the ticked fields contains the Find text. For Value, 900 matches “900” but not “9000”.
- Clear empties the chosen fields. Clearing Value removes the override and the measured value shows again.
- Apply uses the dimensions selected in Revit, all their segments. Brush applies as you click: Whole String or one Segment. Enter, Space or Esc returns. Each Apply, and each brush session, is one Undo.
- Merge / Extract / Delete rebuild the string. Text fields are kept; a merged segment drops its Value override because its length is new.
