Rule Select
Select elements by rules instead of by clicking: choose categories, add parameter rules, Test, then Select Results. It can also test, duplicate and update the model's Project Filters. Follow the notes, or just play.

How it works
- Scope decides where Rule Select looks: the current view, the entire model (other levels too), or only what is selected now.
- Categories narrow the candidates; with none ticked every category is searched. The rules all have to match (AND). Operators are =, ≠, contains and exists; = and ≠ compare the displayed value and ignore case.
- Parameter and value lists are keyword searches: type any part of a name. The values are read from the candidates only after you choose a parameter, with a count for each. Type parameters are marked [Type].
- Test changes nothing: it reports the count and a breakdown per category. Select Results replaces the Revit selection with the result, including elements that are not visible in this view.
- "same as saved filter" means the rules were tested as the native Revit filter they would be saved as. Rules that cannot be saved (exists, type parameters, numbers, names typed without choosing a suggestion) are tested by displayed value ("temporary rules").
- Project Filter imports an existing filter to test or edit. Filters whose rules Rule Select cannot edit without changing their meaning stay read-only but can still be tested, selected and duplicated. Duplicate as Filter creates a new filter; Update Filter first says how many views and templates use it.
- Keep for Session stores the rules as a draft until Revit closes; nothing is written to the model.
