Profile Inspector
Pick a wall sweep, mullion, railing or a wall with built-in sweeps: the window lists every type that uses the same Profile family type. Edit that type, duplicate it for some of them, or swap in another profile. The window stays open, so you can pick again in any view at any time. Run 1 edits the profile, run 2 duplicates it for one type only, run 3 picks a railing in 3D and swaps its profile. Follow the notes, or just play.

NimDeck — Profile Inspector
CHANGE PROFILE
How it works
- Run it from NimDeck › Content › Profile Inspector (or Command Search) with one element selected, or with nothing selected and pick one. It reads wall sweeps and reveals (standalone and built into wall types), slab edges, fascias, gutters, mullions, railing rails, top rails, handrails and stair nosings. Balusters are families, not profiles, so they are not listed. The window is modeless: Pick reads another element in any view, 3D included.
- A railing reaches its top rail profile through its Top Rail Type, so the list shows both the rail type and the railing type. Changing the rail type changes every railing that uses it.
- A wall with several built-in sweeps lists each profile in the drop-down at the top. Each row is one type that uses the profile, with its instance count in the project. Select picks the chosen rows' instances in the current view.
- The rows you choose (all rows when none) are what Replace, Duplicate and Duplicate Family change. Edit Type › Edit renames the profile type or changes its values, and every user changes. Edit Type › Duplicate makes a copy with the values you enter and uses it for the chosen rows.
- Duplicate Family copies the whole profile family under a new name, switches the chosen rows to its copy of the type, and opens the copy in the Family Editor. Edit Family opens the original. A mullion with a built-in rectangle or circle shape offers Create New… instead: an empty mullion profile family.
- Replace asks first and says in red how many types and instances change. When the picked element's own type is among them you can give only that element a new host type instead.
