3D Snapshot
Zoom into part of a plan or a section and click 3D Snapshot. The 3D view on the right gets a section box around exactly what you see on screen.

How it works
- The box follows your current zoom and pan, not a selection. With the crop region on, it stops at the crop.
- Plan: the box is 5% larger than the screen on each side. Its top is the View Range Cut Plane; its bottom is the View Depth, lowered to the underside of a floor that crosses it (500 mm lower if no floor is found), so the floor does not disappear.
- Section and elevation: the front of the box is the cut plane itself, with no margin. Width and height are what you see; the depth is the Far Clip Offset (or the crop depth, or 10 m with No Clip). The camera looks at the cut face from slightly above and to the right.
- By default it updates your default 3D view, {3D} or {3D - user name} in a workshared model, and creates no views. If that view is missing, it offers Revit's Default 3D View. Shift+click chooses a separate “3D Snapshot” view instead.
- The 3D view's crop is turned off, the section box outline is shown, and the camera is saved. Visibility, templates and phases are not copied.
